322 units per 10,000 people! The density of robots in my country’s manufacturing industry has increased by about 13 times

At the recently held 2022 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference, the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that in the past ten years, my country has implemented intelligent manufacturing projects in depth, and the scale and level of intelligent manufacturing applications have entered the global leading ranks.

manufacturingrobotThe density increased by about 13 times, reaching 322 units per 10,000 workers. The application scale of key technologies for intelligent manufacturing such as 5G and artificial intelligence ranks among the top in the world.

In the past ten years, 110 factories have reached the advanced level of international intelligent manufacturing, and nearly 2,000 high-level factories have been built to lead the development of the industry.Digitizingworkshop and smart factory.

In the past ten years, the scale of my country’s intelligent manufacturing equipment industry has approached 3 trillion yuan, and the revenue of Industrial software products has exceeded 240 billion yuan. There are nearly 100 intelligent manufacturing system solution providers whose main business income exceeds 1 billion yuan, and their service scope covers more than 90% of the manufacturing industry.

In the next step, we will adhere to the main direction of intelligent manufacturing and accelerate the creation of an “upgraded version” of intelligent manufacturing, which is mainly divided into four aspects:

Focus on building a high-efficiency innovation system, strengthen basic research, applied basic research and key technology research and development, and lead the evolution and upgrading of intelligent manufacturing.

Focus on building a high-level industrial system, promote the innovative development of intelligent manufacturing equipment, industrial software, and system solutions, and strengthen 5G, artificial intelligence,Industrial Internetconstruction of digital infrastructure.

Focus on forming a high-standard application system, continue to carry out pilot demonstrations of smart manufacturing, build more smart factories and smart supply chains, and accelerate the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprisesdigital transformationEncourage the construction of intelligent manufacturing pioneer areas.

Efforts will be made to build a high-level guarantee system, focus on iconic products, key enterprises, talents and industrial clusters, optimize the intelligent manufacturing promotion system, implement the intelligent manufacturing partner plan, and carry out multi-level and cross-field exchanges and cooperation.

our countryIndustrial robotThe demand will increase by another 3 million in ten years

At the end of last year, the “14th Five-Year Plan” robot Industry Development Plan jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pointed out that by 2025, the average annual growth rate of the Robot Industry revenue will exceed 20%, and the manufacturing robot density will double. In 2020, the density of Robots in my country’s manufacturing industry is 246 units per 10,000 people, which means that by 2025, it will reach about 500 units per 10,000 people, and there is still huge room for growth.

At present, the trend of aging in my country continues to intensify, the reduction of labor force and the increase of labor costs have increased the pressure on the development of the manufacturing industry. It is imperative to accelerate the development of automation applications represented by industrial robots.

United Nations projections suggest that China’s 20- to 64-year-old population, the majority of the labor force, may have peaked and decline sharply after 2030.

In fact, my country’s manufacturing industry is also shrinking, and services continue to expand. There are fewer and fewer young people who are willing to work in factories. According to data from the International Labor Organization, the number of people employed in China’s manufacturing industry will be 147 million in 2021, 22 million fewer than in 2012. During the same period, the number of people employed in the service industry will increase by 32% to 365 million.

Many economists believe that the current labor force in China is no longer growing rapidly and can no longer rely on a continuously expanding labor force to drive economic growth, and that automation is the most reliable way to increase the productivity of its existing workers.

In addition to alleviating the pressure of labor shortage, China’s industrial structure is accelerating transformation, and the proportion of high-end manufacturing with high added value is constantly increasing, which also requires the accelerated application of robot automation. The requirements of high-end manufacturing in terms of precision and stability are exactly what robots need good at.

The economic benefits brought about by the changes in the labor market and the improvement of robot technology will push China into a period of upsurge in the application of robots. At present, the operating inventory of industrial robots in my country is about 1 million units. The Wall Street Journal predicts that by 2030, the number of industrial robots on China’s production lines will 3.2 million to 4.2 million units.

Accelerating the automation process of the manufacturing industry is not only to alleviate the pressure of the shrinking labor force, but also to help the development of high-end manufacturing. According to the Wall Street Journal, this is the only way for China to develop into a country with a higher income level. At present, China occupies 29% of the global manufacturing industry is still undoubtedly the world’s manufacturing factory.
