Pilz: The “new choice” for small and medium safety applications!

PNOZmulti2 Modular Programmable Safety Controller is currently the “leader” among Pilz controller products. It provides simple, convenient and practical safety control solutions for users in all walks of life, and is deeply loved by users.

Recently, PILZ launched a new basic module of PNOZmulti2 – PNOZ m B0.1, which has been improved on the original basic module PNOZ m B0 to make it more suitable for small and medium-sized safety applications in terms of function and cost performance customer needs.

“Similarities and differences” between PNOZ m B0 and PNOZ m B0.1

Similar to PNOZ m B0, the PNOZ m B0.1 basic module body can provide 20 safe digital inputs that can be freely combined and used, of which 8 safe input points can also be used as non-safe semiconductor outputs through software configuration. The base is capable of providing 4 safe semiconductor outputs, each capable of ISO 13849-1 PL e and ISO 61508 SIL CL3. In addition, 4 test pulses are provided on the body, which can be used to monitor the safety input circuit. Through software configuration, these 4 test pulses can also be configured as non-safe semiconductor outputs for use. In terms of appearance size, PNOZ m B0.1 is exactly the same as PNOZ m B0. Chip card removable program storage is convenient for future hardware exchange. The LCD Display with backlight on the front can display the faults and status of the PNOZ m B0.1 module operation, and can also display custom text through the configuration of the user software.

Compared with PNOZ m B0, the right side of PNOZ m B0.1 basic module can only be expanded with 1 safe input and output module (speed monitoring module does not support), such as PNOZ m EF 16DI, PNOZ m EF 4DI4DOR, PNOZ m EF 2DOR, PNOZ m EF 4DI4DORD, PNOZ m EF 8DI4DO, PNOZ m EF 8DI2DOT. On the left side, up to 4 safety connection modules, 1 fieldbus module and 1 ETH interface or RS232 interface module can be expanded as required.

The supporting software of PNOZ m B0.1 is still PNOZmulti Configurator, but the version needs to be v11.0 onwards. Commonly used safety software function blocks can be used with PNOZ m B0.1. As we all know, PNOZmulti Configurator is very user-friendly, with a graphical interface, mouse drag-and-drop operation and menu-based selection methods, even without much programming experience, it can easily realize professional safety programming. Rich fieldbus interface modules can help PNOZ m B0.1 to easily realize data exchange with external third-party equipment. Various diagnostic data in the safety system can be easily retrieved and displayed through this interface. Currently, the supported protocols are Profibus , CANopen, CC-Link, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Profinet and Powerlink.

Overview of the features of the PNOZ m B0.1
